About the Event
Join us at the North Texas Prison Dawah Symposium for a day of learning and discussions on spreading the message of Islam to the incarcerated. The event will begin with a Meet & Greet, followed by an Introduction to Muslims in Prison with Chaplain Yesil Nihat and Imam Raqib Abdul Jabaar, including a video from Huma-Faith’s founder about the challenges of accepting Islam in prison and the current realities in Texas prisons. Sh. Hasan Khalil and Omran Zbeida will then emphasize the importance of supporting incarcerated Muslims, highlighting the need for volunteers and mosque involvement. Chaplain Baquee Sabur will present Huma-Faith’s current initiatives, such as women’s mentorship, rehabilitation curriculums, and various celebrations. Imam Khalid Griggs and Sr. Lou will discuss Huma-Faith’s one-year plan to enhance prison outreach and support.
The evening will conclude with dinner, a Q&A session, and Maghrib prayers. This symposium offers a valuable opportunity to engage in the noble cause of supporting both current and formerly incarcerated Muslims, reflecting the Quranic values of charity and compassion.
