Dallas-Fort Worth Area Hits 100 Degrees for the First Time This Year

Summer is intensifying across North Texas. Highs this week are expected to soar into triple-digit territory, as forecasted by the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

On Sunday afternoon, temperatures reached 100 degrees in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, marking the first triple-digit high of the year according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Air temperatures in North Texas hovered in the high 90s over the weekend. Meteorologists from the weather service had previously indicated that the heat index, or “feels-like” temperature, would exceed 100 degrees multiple times this week. Sunday saw temperatures climb above 100 degrees for the first time this year.

At DFW Airport, the mercury hit 100 degrees at 3:42 p.m., heralding what could be the first of several days this week with triple-digit temperatures.
